Two points awarded by the Croatian Medical Chamber for an adverse drug reaction notification
12.05.2010
As of 10 March 2010, instead of 0.5 points, the Croatian Medical Chamber has been awarding 2 points for an adverse drug reaction (ADR) notification.
Under the Ordinance on continuing medical education (CME), adopted by the Council of the Croatian Medical Chamber at its session held on 19 February 2010, which took effect as of 10 March 2010, an ADR notification will carry 2, instead of 0.5 points. This Ordinance supersedes the Ordinance on the content, deadlines and procedures of continuing medical education and testing of professional skills of 26 January 2007.
At the start of each calendar year, the Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices (HALMED) sends a confirmation to reporting physicians of the number of ADR notifications and the pertaining number of points earned, which may be used by physicians in their re-licensing application (Letter of the CME Commission No. 11-52/07). At the same time, once a year, HALMED provides the Chamber with a list of reporting physicians and their pertaining number of ADR notifications, so as to verify their score.
