Meeting of HALMED’s representatives and competent authorities in the region

The Agency for Medicinal Product and Medical Devices (HALMED) organised on 12 November in Šibenik a meeting of competent authorities for medicines on the topic "Inter-regulatory regional co-operation on medicines - possibilities and practice”.
Representatives from competent authorities from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia gathered after the International regulatory and pharmacovigilance conference "Croatian mark in the EU” to discuss possibilities for co-operation on medicines.
Participants presented the work of their agencies and proposed topics where co-operation development and exchange of experience is needed. Possibilities for co-operation on medicines authorisation, pharmacovigilance, quality defect monitoring, inspection, staff training, safety information exchange and fight against counterfeit medicines were discussed. Concrete ways of co-operation were proposed and co-ordinators for certain fields were designated. Also, a forming of contacts network was agreed, as well as platform preparation for information exchange and further steps were defined for improvement of co-operation among competent authorities for medicines in the countries and region.
